Fantart- Il posto dei Libri e dei Disegni

  Oggi vi parlo di un testo che unisce il mio amore per i libri a quello per la pittura ed il disegno. Pur disegnando e dipingendo da molti anni, mi sono accorta di non avere un vero e proprio testo di anatomia artistica: possiedo diversi manuali, qualche libro di fotografie dal quale attingere per copiare pose e movenze e per lo più ormai, quando ho bisogno di un riferimento visivo, faccio le mie ricerche su internet. Ma ricercare immagini è un'attività faticosa - lo è realmente, anche se a scriverlo sembra ridicolo - e per il momento in cui riesco a trovare un'immagine la voglia di disegnare è già andata via. Invece un testo di anatomia, seppur sommario come quello che oggi recensisco - ha un approccio più organico e consente uno studio non frammentato nei mille cocci di un'attenzione disattenta. Se a ciò aggiungo la mia innegabile predilezione per il cartaceo, non vedo come ho potuto aspettare fino ad oggi per rimediare a questa mancanza della mia biblioteca acquistando ...

Today I have done a consistent step on the way ..... but it's never going to be finished!!!!!!!

She's ready: I finished at last my first pencil work: to tell the truth, the background I did using watercolors, but all the rest is made using pencils. Prints are on sale on Fine art america  : they obviously won't have the watermark (i.e. my name and website) on them.

After taking a short holiday, eating some pandoro and Christmas cakes, and being at home looking after my daughter, I am ready to start a new year full of colors, paintings and illustrations! I had a very busy November and December, illustrating four children's books in only 40 days... but I did it without missing my delivery dates :-) I spent these few January weeks finishing my last watercolor (you'll see it in a few days, as soon as I take the photos): I am thinking to use it to do my first video tutorial about watercolor technique... Anyway it is finished now and I am open for commissions again: if you wish the book you wrote for your children to be illustrated, want a portrait of your dog, a custom tatto or a fantasy painting depicting your girlfriend, just contact me at fbonghi@yahoo.it Wishing everybody a happy new year This illustration is a custom coat of arms I did for a client....

I think I can definitely say Christmas time is the most busy time of the year for an illustrator.... lots of people want to have their books and fables illustrated for their sons, daughters, niece..... I wish each month was so full with commissions!!!!! But I am also neglecting my watercolors, wich makes me a bit sad.... Brushes, wait for me, I'll soon be back!!!!!!! :-) This is an illustration I drew for a client....  a fairy, of course :-)

I recently finished my Butterfly Fairies Series, made of five sweet, funny wood fairies adorned with butterfly and dragonfly wings : The fairies are on sale on my Etsy Shop , where you can instantly buy and download them: there you can find five files, jpeg, 300 dpi, ready for printing and coloring. You can buy one fairy only, or two, three... as you like it! Each purchase includes a black and white file ready for printing and coloring AND a partially colored version to offer coloring suggestions. This is the illustration I drew for an article about an “hippie” or “roaring twenties” inspired  marriage: it has been published on the  Villa Valente website, a location based near Rome for events, parties and marriages… My next illustration is ready, but I can’t publish it before it is published by Villa Valente… stay tuned, you’ll see it in a few days! And it will have a sexy feeling…

I’m just opening  my new shop on Etsy:   its name, Fantasy Art Online, is temporary, and it will take time to set up as I want it to be, but I already added a few items: in particular, I added a downloadable drawing, a Christams fairy, both in coloured and black and white version, ready tobe coloured. I hope it brings me luck!!! In the meanwhile, merry Christmas to you all!

I'm coming back where I started from: about one year ago I decided to move to Wordpress, because I read it offered better services than Blogspot... But I must disagree: it's true, wordpress helps you to connect with new people, but, I must say, Blogspot allows you to customize your blog or website in a better way, at least for what I need! Being that, I decided to keep wordpress but to update this blog again with every post I add on wordpress itself... The new thing is that, both on this blog and on my wordpress website, you will find my cute "Artsy Stuff" , but, here on blogspot, you will be able to purchase it  directly using your paypal account, by clicking on the button you can see on the related page !!! The first Artsy Stuff I am adding is "I'll paint your portrait as a Fairy" ... have your digital portrait in just one week!  Liberty longing - 2012  This is My new watercolor: I enjoyed very much painting the wings, I painted something beetween a butterfly and a a dragonfly wing.  I have tried to fade colours (from green to a warm yellow) without interrupting the coloring act: in other words, I am learning to shade off one color into another without sudden changing in colors texture. I am quite happy of it and, as usual, I felt very happy during painting. Which is the main reason I paint for. Finalmente ce l'ho fatta! Destreggiandomi tra gli impegni, lavorativi e non, di tutti i giorni, sono finalmente riuscita a finire questo disegno: è un'opera digitale realizzata direttamente e completamente al pc. Ho utilizzato il software gratuito Gimp.2, del quale immagino di non conoscere ancora se non una piccola parte delle potenzialità, ed una wacom tablet. Questa è la mia prima opera in digitale, realizzata completamente al pc, con l'ausilio di una tavoletta wacom pen. Il soggetto per me non è molto nuovo, piuttosto mi sono concentrata sul mezzo. I'm having a really hard period, with family problems and job going on as usual (i.e., very tiring!) I get a look at my unfinished sculpture at least once a day, longing to have the strenght to work at it, but I can't because I am too tired and in my spare time I must wash the dishes, clean the house... I am sad because time passes and I can't do the only thing that is really mine, sculpting and painting!!! However, I will never give up... I hope to finish my sculpture soon and to be able to post some photos in a short time.... in the meanwhile I add the photo of a little watercolour drawing I did last year... World, wait for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
