Fantart- Il posto dei Libri e dei Disegni

  Sproloquio del martedì. Oggi scrivo a braccio. Sono una produttrice di oggetti strani ed arcani. Cose vetuste, ancorate ad una età morta e sepolta, talmente lontana da essere ormai menzionata solamente nei libri, forse mai esistita realmente. All'esistenza della maggior parte delle cose crediamo per fede, non per averla sperimentata realmente. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Savonarola, Giordano Bruno, le torte a merenda, la via lattea e il cielo nero di notte: un tempo tutto ciò deve essere esistito, ma non oggi. Così come il collezionista di quadri, o semplicemente l'estimatore. Un tipo di persona interessata all'arte, al bello, al confronto con pensieri altri e diversi. All'acquisto di un oggetto che non sia un telefonino o una console per videogiochi. No: oggi meglio una stampa di Ikea (nemmeno economica, dovrei dire: alcune costano quanto uno dei miei quadri). Non che la stampa di Ikea sia peggio, per carità. Senza dubbio più adatta all'uomo e ala donna mode...

After taking a short holiday, eating some pandoro and Christmas cakes, and being at home looking after my daughter, I am ready to start a new year full of colors, paintings and illustrations! I had a very busy November and December, illustrating four children's books in only 40 days... but I did it without missing my delivery dates :-) I spent these few January weeks finishing my last watercolor (you'll see it in a few days, as soon as I take the photos): I am thinking to use it to do my first video tutorial about watercolor technique... Where have I gone? Some of you may ask such a question.... after many weeks of constant posting, I almost disappeared... and I am not so happy with it... but the cause wich made me "disappear" is a good one... in the last month I worked at 45 drawings.... Yes, 45!!!!!!! It seems as if everyone needing an illustration decided to have it before Christmas.... wich is a good thing for me, but didn't leave me any time to  work at my paintings, doing my painting exercises, creating new fairies and so on.... Anyway, this is the last cover I delivered.... phew!!!!!

I think I can definitely say Christmas time is the most busy time of the year for an illustrator.... lots of people want to have their books and fables illustrated for their sons, daughters, niece..... I wish each month was so full with commissions!!!!! But I am also neglecting my watercolors, wich makes me a bit sad.... Brushes, wait for me, I'll soon be back!!!!!!! :-) This is an illustration I drew for a client....  a fairy, of course :-)
