This is My new watercolor: I enjoyed very much painting the wings, I painted something beetween a butterfly and a a dragonfly wing.
 I have tried to fade colours (from green to a warm yellow) without interrupting the coloring act: in other words, I am learning to shade off one color into another without sudden changing in colors texture.
I am quite happy of it and, as usual, I felt very happy during painting.
Which is the main reason I paint for.

Questo è il mio nuovo acquerello: mi sono divertita molto mentre lo dipingevo; in particolare mi sono concentrata sull'effetto delle ali - a metà strada tra quelle di una farfalla e quelle di una libellula - tentando di sfumare il colore senza brusche interruzioni o passaggi da una tinta all'altra.
Ne sono abbastanza soddisfatta.

Il mio ultimo sforzo: "Il Drago", acquerelli, e pennarelli copic per la pelle dell'elfa.

Il dipinto è stato realizzato in circa venti giorni: come i miei lettori abituali sanno, non ho molto tempo libero da dedicare alla pittura.

This is my last effort: a new watercolor called "The Dragon".

I used watercolors, and markers for the elf skin.

It took me about twenty days to finish it: as my readers know, I don't have much spare time.

As soon as I finished it, I thought to dedicate a page to the painting process: you can find it at the top of the page (it is "My videos - the making of" page).

The Owl

Finalmente ce l'ho fatta!

Destreggiandomi tra gli impegni, lavorativi e non, di tutti i giorni, sono finalmente riuscita a finire questo disegno: è un'opera digitale realizzata direttamente e completamente al pc. Ho utilizzato il software gratuito Gimp.2, del quale immagino di non conoscere ancora se non una piccola parte delle potenzialità, ed una wacom tablet.

Il mio primo disegno al PC... My first Digital painting...

Questa è la mia prima opera in digitale, realizzata completamente al pc, con l'ausilio di una tavoletta wacom pen.

Il soggetto per me non è molto nuovo, piuttosto mi sono concentrata sul mezzo.

Nodi celtici - Celtic knots

Come scrissi tempo fa, sto imparando l'arte del disegno dei nodi celtici...
Il mio maestro è attualmente Aidan Meehan, un ottimo artista ed un grande insegnante, seppure a distanza (seguo un corso per corrispondenza, gli invio le mie tavole e lui me le restituisce commentate).
Questo è uno dei miei esercizi.

As I wrote in a previous post, I am learning knots- drawing from an excellent artist and great teacher named Aidan Meehan; it is a correspondence course, I draw and send to him my works, and he sends them back to me with his comments.
This is one of my exercises.

Celtic Knots - nodi celtici

E' da molto che non scrivo su questo blog, ma c'è un buon motivo: sto imparando a disegnare i nodi celtici; durante un viaggio in Irlanda , l'estate scorsa, acquistai un libro per imparare a disegnare i nodi celtici, ed in seguito contattai l'autore, che gentilmente mi rispose, perchè non riuscivo a capire ogni passaggio; così ho iniziato un corso per corrsipondenza i cui primi risultati pubblicherò qui tra poco... se tornerete potrete vederli.

It's been a long time since I wrote on this blog... this is because I am learning a new technique, I am learning to master ancient art of celtic patterns...
Last summer I had a journey to Ireland, that I love very much, and I bought a book to learn drawing celtic knots...
Reading those pages I couldn't understand everything, that's why I wrote to the author to ask some explanations...
He kindly answered to me, and this is how I begun a "drawing class" with this new teacher; I will soon post some photos of my first efforts in celtic medieval art...
