Finished at last! I enjoyed so much designing her... This includes storytellers, folklorists, mythologists, balladeers, singers, composers, poets, musicians, particularly harpers, historians and clan genealogists. She provided the ‘fire in the head’ of poetic inspiration. A very complex figure, Brigit is a solar deity and triskell is one of her symbols. In celtic mythology she is the daughter of the Dagda and one of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Original artwork is about 34.4 x 25.5 cm.

Hair finished at last! I am going to finish plants on the background now... it's the first time I post so many updates about one single project, but this time it's different.... I feel I am narrowing the search to my personal style (and it's not a matter of media....) Prints will soon follow, but I have to finish first!

I am still working at her hair..... perhaps I could do a step by step video once finished, or a tutorial.... if people like her I may do it... comments are welcome!

This is a detail of my latest fantasy painting.... a tiny butterfly fairy...

Done at last! Ok, it took me quite a long time to finish it, but I had a terrible flu (again), and  I can only work a few hours a day... It is my finished magical, fantastical, stupendously mysterious blue tiny cat... my daughter called it "Gattino blu", which means blue tiny cat, and it's how I call it. It is completely hand sculpted, without any mould, and hand painted. It is about 15 cm high: to watch the  making process  feel free to visit  my youtube channel  here . This is the wip (work in progress) of the painting I am working at: I am trying with colored pencils this time... Subject is the female version of the renowned Green Man...

This time I took a deep breath, found some courage and decided to try: I submitted this painting for participating to the 2015 edition of Spectrum Fantastic Art. Anyway, I enjoyed painting it, she is the lady of the manor taking a rest from her daily duties, sitting on the lakeside beneath her castle. While painting I probably was thinking to the Urquhart Castle, which I visited in 2012: it was very inspiring... You can find it on my Zazzle shop as a poster

An “orphan” drawing I used to draw illustrations for a wedding organizing website, providing them to its webmaster: unfortunately the collaboration between the webmaster and that website stopped, but someone forgot to tell me about that, so I continued to illustrate the piece they previously told me to work at. The illustration I drew  I like very much, I must say it probably is the most original I drew for them, but it is not intended to be part of that website anymore. Nevertheless, I want it to be displayed, so I post it here: it is all gold and silver!!! :-)

I think I can definitely say Christmas time is the most busy time of the year for an illustrator.... lots of people want to have their books and fables illustrated for their sons, daughters, niece..... I wish each month was so full with commissions!!!!! But I am also neglecting my watercolors, wich makes me a bit sad.... Brushes, wait for me, I'll soon be back!!!!!!! :-) This is an illustration I drew for a client....  a fairy, of course :-)
